The Devon Mental Health Alliance: What is it and how will it work?
The Devon Mental Health Alliance (DMHA) is a partnership of organisations in Devon focused on developing and improving local mental health support services. It is an evolving collaborative body which seeks to create stronger links with organisations across the county for the benefit of service users. The Alliance will serve as the ‘backbone’ to the mental health system within Devon, with lived experience at its core, making all services more accessible to the people who need them.
The six member organisations of the DMHA collectively support around 30,000 people across Devon every year with complex life situations and multiple disadvantages. These include mental and physical ill health, homelessness, poverty, domestic and sexual violence, offending and reoffending, substance misuse, and more. As local charities, the members understand the complexities of mental health and wellbeing across the Devon landscape, and are connected to one another.
As well as linking key organisations across the width and breadth of Devon, the Alliance will also develop its own team of staff dedicated to furthering the partnership’s goal of co-producing system change that will ensure the best possible outcomes for people in Devon with multiple and complex mental health needs. This includes recruitment in the new year of Locality Managers and Recovery Practitioners, who will work directly with the Alliance members and its other partners.
We will share much more information about the Alliance throughout early 2022. For now, click or tap the buttons below to find out more about the Alliance, its members, and to join our mailing list for further updates.
