Encouraging careers in the mental health sector at the University of Exeter

Earlier this month, Ed and Sarah from Step One Charity and the Devon Mental Health Alliance attended the University of Exeter’s Casual Jobs and Internships Fair at The Forum on the university’s Streatham Campus. The pair spoke with students about careers in the mental health sector, as well as promoting several opportunities available at Step One.

After the event, Ed commented: “It was a pleasure to attend the Exeter University Casual Jobs & Internships Fair. The event was a great opportunity to talk with over 130 students about our services and what careers we can offer in the mental health sector. It was fantastic to see so many students taking an interest in our service.

“Step One Charity has always had a great relationship with Exeter University and offers roles that provide valuable field experience for people studying relevant courses such as psychology or social work. This can lead to careers with the Devon Mental Health Alliance as a Recovery Practitioner, opening doors for aspiring graduates to receive training in essential practical skills such as DBT and Motivational Interviewing.”
