'Art and Mind' and 'Supportive Hands' in Barnstaple

June and July saw Studio Kind and the Barnstaple Pannier market host the 'Art and Mind' exhibition and 'Supportive Hands' installations respectively. Art and Mind showcased a collection of work by local community groups and artists. Professionally curated and free to visit the gallery, the Devon Mental Health Alliance created a unique opportunity for local groups to celebrate and share the stories behind the incredible artwork.

The Supportive Hands installation was a community led and publicly created art installation - anyone could join us to help bring this composition together. It was lovely to meet so many people who took a hand template and got very creative with it! If you wished, you could write a message on the hand stating what support looked like, felt like or meant to you.

With hundreds of people showing an interest and getting involved, the Devon Mental Health Alliance could share its mission and work with our community in Northern Devon and continue to build relationships as we look forward to the next two years working together.
